Bridging Healthcare Access Program Impact

Between 2023 and 2024, Village Hope International connected 570 vulnerable individuals to hospitals and essential healthcare services. These include:

  • Children receiving timely vaccinations and pediatric care.

  • Seniors managing chronic conditions with proper support.

  • Disabled individuals accessing transportation and treatment.

Our team works closely with hospitals, clinics, and local organizations to ensure families can access care with dignity and confidence. Each number represents a life changed - a barrier removed, a family supported, a future made brighter.

Impact Highlights | What We Did

Referrals to Free and Low-Cost Healthcare Services

In 2024, Village Hope International referred 120 individuals to free and low-cost healthcare services, following 450 served in 2023. These community-based interventions reflect a broader trend across Uganda and developing countries, where such referrals have increased preventive health service utilization by up to 26%, demonstrating the power of grassroots access programs to improve health outcomes and strengthen local systems.

Support with Health Insurance Applications

In 2024, Village Hope International assisted 120 individuals in the San Fernando Valley, California - including children, seniors, and persons with disabilities, with health insurance applications, connecting them to hospitals and essential care. This support helped reduce financial barriers and improved access to services, reflecting broader trends in underserved U.S. communities where such interventions have increased healthcare utilization by up to 26%.

 Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

In 2023 and 2024, Village Hope International provided Non-Emergency Medical Transportation to 120 underserved individuals in Uganda and in California’s San Fernando Valley - bridging critical gaps in healthcare access. This service helped families reach hospitals and clinics for routine and preventive care, reflecting broader data that shows transportation support can boost appointment adherence by up to 28% and reduce avoidable hospital visits in low-income communities.

Community Outreach and Navigation Assistance

In 2024, Village Hope International provided community outreach and navigation assistance to 570 underserved individuals in Uganda, helping them access vital healthcare services and information. This effort addressed critical barriers such as lack of awareness, transportation, and system complexity. Studies in similar settings show that such interventions can increase healthcare utilization by up to 26%, particularly for preventive services like immunizations and maternal care.

Why It Matters

Healthcare access is often out of reach for those who need it most. Bureaucratic hurdles, transportation gaps, and lack of information can leave families stranded. Our program bridges these gaps, empowering communities to: Navigate complex systems with confidence, Receive care without financial or logistical barriers and Build healthier futures for generations to come.
