Village Hope International is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering vulnerable children and families through formal education and modern healthcare services. Our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan is a renewed commitment to fight illiteracy, disease, poverty, and socioeconomic injustice - locally and globally.

This strategy is a call for collective action. It invites partners, donors, and communities to join hands in creating lasting change. Together, we will walk alongside vulnerable children and their families, offering psychosocial and economic transformation through education, healthcare, and care-based support.
 

Why This Strategy Matters

Globally, one in five children lives in especially difficult circumstances - most between the ages of 6 and 15. In many developing countries, traditional support systems are overwhelmed by poverty, climate change, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and domestic violence. These compounding crises have compromised the ability of communities to provide adequate care, education, and health services.

Village Hope International responds with urgency and clarity. Our strategy is designed to adapt to complex realities, remain mission-focused, and deliver measurable impact. It is Tailored to aligns with international nonprofit standards for transparency, program integrity, and donor accountability.

Our Core Interventions

Support to Acquire Formal Education

We identify and sponsor vulnerable children and empower them through:

  • School enrollment Support.

  • School Fees Payment.

  • scholastic Material support.

  • Community Trainings and Outreach to promote and Support Education of Vulnerable Children like Girls and Children with Disabilities.

Support to Access Modern Healthcare Services

We provide life-saving health services and community training through:

  • Health assessments and referrals.

  • Providing Life-Saving Medicines.

  • Nutritional training and food support.

  • Clean water access via rainwater harvesting, Spring Water Wells Development and Borehole drilling.

  • Emergency and non-emergency medical transport.

  • Community healthcare sensitization.  

Caregivers and Support

We ensure vulnerable children receive daily care and emotional support by:

  • Identifying children in urgent need of caregivers.

  • Training and deploying qualified caregivers.

  • Supporting caregivers with household essentials.

  • Offering psychosocial development services.  

Organizational Commitment

We are committed to being accountable, effective, and transparent. Our legitimacy and influence depend on our ability to deliver on our promises and lead by example. We hold ourselves responsible to the children we serve, our partners, and the supporters who give us time, resources, and solidarity.

Strengthening Our Team

We invest in our staff - building capacity through training, secondments, and learning opportunities. Our teams are equipped to assess, analyze, and implement solutions that change lives.

Strengthening Systems & Policies

Robust systems and policies are the backbone of our impact. We’re enhancing our Management Information System and financial policies to improve decision-making, implementation, and accountability.

Growing Our Partnerships

We recognize that real change requires collaboration. VHI is expanding its alliances with civil society groups, networks, and donors to amplify our reach and deepen our impact.

Diversifying Our Income

At least 50% of our income comes from individual donors. We’re strengthening our fundraising capacity to meet growing competition and donor expectations - linking supporters directly to the children and communities they uplift.

Making It Happen

We’re translating our strategic vision into tangible impact through community-based assessments and targeted interventions that address the most pressing needs of vulnerable children and families. Our focus spans seven critical areas: socioeconomic security, food security and nutrition, care and support, conflict impact reduction, education, psychosocial support, and health - ensuring a holistic, locally informed approach to transformation and resilience.
