Why is Education Important in Developing Countries?

Education is every child's right. Unfortunately, this is not a reality for millions of children, especially in developing countries. Poverty in some countries and homesteads have stripped children this right, potentially and denied them a brighter future.

Essentially, education and development go hand in hand. Education is crucial as lack of it leads to poverty and a stagnant economy in a country. Education is a primary need for everyone and one main way to have a better chance in life, including employment opportunities and better health.

For this reason, organizations such as Village Hope International have found it fundamental to chip in and offer education scholarships to thousands of children around the world. There is no denying that education is a vital element of life. It has the ability to shape a child's destiny and impact on the entire country.

This article will explore the impact of education in developing countries.

Education plays a huge role in reducing poverty. It's through education that economic growth and increased GDP is witnessed in a country. Developed countries such as the USA and Japan are extremely prosperous because of a high literacy rate. If the same can be achieved in developing countries, their economy can significantly grow.

Education facilitates equality. For the entire world to become equal, it needs to start with providing the same opportunities to education. This way, there will be fewer gaps between social classes. Everyone in the world would have a chance at life, including good paying jobs. Unfortunately, education has been clobbered by many hindrances in developing countries.

Special focus needs to be given to vulnerable groups, including children from low-income families, children with disabilities and girls. This group is likely to be affected by inadequate learning resources, poor education infrastructure, and lack of well-trained teachers.

Let's explore the advantage of a learned girl, for instance. Educated women tend to be healthier and make a good income. When they can take care of their health, this means healthy children for generations. A woman who can make her own income also contributed massively to her family and community at large. This is what makes educating a girl child an investment in any country.

Education also plays a huge role in lowering infant mortality rate and increases human life expectancy. Also, when every child receives education and lands a job after school, the country's crime rate lowers. This is because everyone has a source of income, and turning to illegal ways to solve their problems has no chance. Hence, education contributes to social harmony and peace.

In conclusion, while education is a crucial right in the 21st century, numerous fences prevent its effect in developing countries. This includes disparity in education accessibility, lack of technological resources, poor quality of education, poverty, to name a few. Education can change the life of these children and give them a better future. It's also the pillar behind a strong economy. By coming together and finding ways to make education possible for children in developing countries, can we make their lives better.
