EDUCATION

Basic education allows children to live a better, more productive life, and increases their choices and opportunities for the future. In the long term, if vulnerable children acquire skills and training, they will be in a better position to support themselves and their families. Education is the road that children follow to reach their full potential in life.

Village Hope International supports education programs for children at school and at home through the following projects.

We Provide Children Scholarships and scholastic material.

Out of school vulnerable children are supported to return to school.

Older vulnerable children are enrolled in non-formal education/ vocational training.

Teachers are trained in ways to support enrollment, retention and achievement of Vulnerable Children in school.

Community members are sensitized on how to promote the education for Orphans and other Vulnerable Children.

We train parents and caregivers to help their children learn early on, as they are prepared to join school.

We train children co-curricular activities like drawing, games and sports, music, dance and drama — to help them heal, learn and perform better in school.

Nearly 6.2 million children and adolescents under the age of 15 years around the World die each year, their cause of death is mostly from preventable illnesses. And Out of all these deaths, 5.3 million children aged below 5 year die as a result of communicable and non-communicable diseases like pneumonia, diarrhea, typhoid and malaria. More than half of these early child deaths are preventable or can be treated with simple, affordable interventions including immunization, adequate nutrition, safe water and food and appropriate care by a trained health provider when needed. Children in sub-Saharan Africa are more than 15 times more likely to die before the age of 5 than children in high income countries.

That is why we are committed to providing robust health and nutritional programs that save children's lives and ensure that they grow up healthy.

Village Hope International works to improve health and nutrition of mothers, newborn babies and children, with special attention to poor and vulnerable communities. Our Health Care Programs is implemented in hard-to-reach and impoverished communities living under Poverty.

Our center of focus is:

• Preventive Care through Immunization and community healthcare sensitization campaigns.

• Medical Care.

• Feeding.

• Providing shelter to needy children.

• Safe Water at school and at home.
